Advocates for the Arts (AFTA) proudly announces the 14th annual Evening in the Valleysm. Our Event Sponsor, Wooden Valley Winery, will host this special evening on Saturday, September 11, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., which will feature the amazing "Time Bandits" back by popular demand.
This year marks AFTA's seventeenth year serving Solano County as a completely volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to keeping visual and performing arts alive and vibrant in Solano County. "Evening in the Valley" has been a tremendous success over the years selling out at 500 attendees who enjoy an evening of fine food and wine, dancing under the stars to live music and the live and silent auctions.
Last year's event raised much needed funds, which have been distributed in our community through grants to art and music organizations and to student scholarships throughout the county. As state and local budgets come under additional fiscal scrutiny, the arts will need AFTA's fundraising more than ever to ensure excellence in Solano County's art programs, benefiting our future generations.
